An Apologia for Calvinism (begun 2.21.06)

Not that it hasn't been said before,

or shall never be said again -

for thought is circular as the one whose head it crowns -

but grace is found in common things:

no Paul-struck flash of insight

or lifting to the third heaven

for which one must wait.

Jesus said "watch and pray" indeed

but also "the fields are white for harvest."

Are you not a field within yourself?

and are these stirrings not also seeds?

- One truth, to which one must only wake;

We find it ripens with the hour.
